Crafts Council

The Crafts Council is the UK’s national organisation for the promotion of contemporary crafts. Established in 1971, we are an independent body funded by the Arts Council England, responsible for promoting fine craftsmanship, encouraging high standards and increasing public awareness of contemporary crafts and applied arts.

Creative Scotland Awards

Each year, up to ten established artists with a record of major achievement in their field are awarded £30,000 to provide them with a unique opportunity to realise their imaginative ideas in a major project. The Award may also be used to experiment, or to discover new talents. Each artist also receives a beautiful glass award created by Scottish glass artist Anita Pate.
