The Suffering

No, I didn't want to like this. I try to review with an open mind but when Metal Hammer describes something as "aural Star Wars" my prejudices start to gather at warp speed. So much attention has been given to Coheed and Cambria's Sci-Fi influences that the catchy chorus's and great vocal harmonies seem to be getting lost beneath the allusions. This is an oh-so prog rock classic and if you can get beyond the concept-driven hype you'll find a band worthy of your allegiance.
