Engage is the lead professional association promoting understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts through advocacy, professional development, and action-research.

Engage has a membership of over 1200, including c. 500 galleries, museums and arts centres across the UK – listed on the teachers’ database www.galleryfinder.org - and a growing international membership.

Engage is core funded by Arts Council England, with project funders including Scottish Arts Council, Arts Council Wales and the European Commission (Socrates)

Engage has a vital role, nationally and internationally, to research and reflect on good practice and professionalism in the special contribution that the visual arts can make to education. - Sir Ken Robinson
