Beyond project at Hay Festival

Advocacy for the humanities takes centre stage at the Hay Festival of Literature and Arts as Sam Delbaere speaks about the value and utility of humanities education in the BBC tent.

The Cultural Learning Alliance and What Next? convened an expert panel to discuss the future of arts and humanities education as part of the BBC Get Creative debates at Hay Festival.

Sam Delbaere spoke about the ‘language problem’ preventing humanities students from accessing existing support and the need to innovate and develop an offer which will help cultural learners make successful transitions from multi-vocational subjects.

Professor Dai Smith, Chair of the Arts Council of Wales and Kevin Jones, Headmaster of St John’s College School Cambridge were also on the panel and made compelling arguments for arts, culture and creativity in education.
